The School of Sustainable Engineered Systems engages researchers from different disciplines and enables them to work in multidisciplinary teams. This leads to out of the box thinking and innovative solutions to today’s sustainability problems.
The complexity of today’s research challenges also requires the creation of coalitions with other engineering disciplines and disciplines as varied as medicine, the mathematical and physical sciences, biological sciences, architecture and social and behavioral sciences.
Since its inception, SSES has led, been involved in or supported numerous multidisciplinary initiatives in the fields of water, energy, materials, and infrastructure. Some of these teams are: Integrated Computational Materials Science and Engineering Terahertz (THz) Technologies Thermal Management Energy Storage Sustainable Infrastructure
